Welcome back to Mike's Yoga Channel and welcome to another Yoga For Athletes video! This videos is a 10 Minute Gentle Yin Yoga For Athletes designed to help you rest and recover like a champion. Yin Yoga is my personal favorite type of yoga not only to teach but also to perform.

Yin Yoga comes with many benefits including:
- Reduces stress and anxiety
- Increases flexibility and circulation
- Improves Sleep
- Targets connective tissues including fascia, bones and joints
- Promotes relaxation and mindfulness

As an athlete, you put your body through a lot by being extremely active, whether be in the gym, practice or playing an actual game. If you are extremely active, it is important to help balance that out with a practice that slows you down and helps you rest, recover and restore. Yin Yoga and meditation are great for this. Most Yin Yoga classes are 60-90 minutes long and you hold the poses for anywhere from 2-10 minutes on average. Think of this video as a mini version of that as we will only be doing a few poses and holding them for 1-2 minutes each.
