Train Cab Ride NL / ICNG Guided Tour + Ride / Breda - Amsterdam / ICNG / March 2023

Описание к видео Train Cab Ride NL / ICNG Guided Tour + Ride / Breda - Amsterdam / ICNG / March 2023

Hi everyone! ICNG is almost ready for its first launch with passengers. Today we take a ride with the specific train that will most likely welcome the first Dutch passengers on board soon!

And I add some of your request in this video compared to the one in december:
- New camera with 4K 60fps video quality. :D
- Cabin speedometer. :D
- Guided Tour Intercity New Generation! :D

0:00 Guided Tour ICNG
We start the video with a grand tour as many of you requested. I will speak in Dutch, but for all my international subscribers I added English subtitles.

8:29 Breda
Time to start the ride with our ICNG train. My colleague drove Amsterdam to Breda. Now I take the train back.

As soon as wel depart the ATB-system shows a 80km/h permitted speed. In this case we are allowed to follow up that speed after we passed the speed sign at the end of the platform.

11:53 Breda Prinsenbeek

13:58 Delayed Thalys Train Ahead (Entering HSL South Section)
We must wait before we can enter the HSL because there's a delayed Thalys train ahead of us. We pass the last ATB signal (yellow). This means the next light shows 'stop'. Shortly after we passed the light signal the ERTMS cabin signalling activates and you will see the actual permitted speed on the speedometer.

15:50 Voltage Change-over
The Thalys is now far enough to give us a 'green light'. As you can see the signal shows a white light. This mean we are now allowed to follow up our cabin signalling again. First slowly passing the signal and as soon as the train passes the signal it collects new (RBC) data for the tracks ahead.

As you can see ICNG works a lot better on this slope than TRAXX does. ICNG is much stronger on the lower speeds which allows the train to gain speed a lot faster. Also ICNG automatically shuts down the high voltage and changes to the correct settings. The driver must of course check if the train does it all correctly and interfere if needed.

18:19 Phase-Lock
This is a section without power that separates two sections (Belgium border - phase-lock - Rotterdam). Not a perfect location for a phase-lock since we just passed a voltage change-over as well. Design flaw.

19:53 Brug Hollandsch Diep
20:48 Tunnel Dordtsche Kil
21:48 Mookhoek
23:10 Molendijk + Tunnel Oude Maas

24:57 Leaving HSL South Section
Time to leave the HSL and enter the Rotterdam area. Here we change voltage again. The train works it's way through the system automatically. The voltage change-over is a 400 meter long section of grounded wires. Therefor the train must also lower the pantograph. When a train should strand in this section there's a possibility to put power back on the lines.

When arriving back in the ATB safety section the driver must confirm that the light signals outside have been checked by the driver.

27:06 Rotterdam Lombardijen
28:10 Rotterdam Stadion
28:51 Rotterdam Zuid + Willemsspoortunnel
29:54 Rotterdam Blaak

32:29 Rotterdam Centraal
Arriving a bit late. Also doing a door test here. As soon as Thalys left the station we'll get permission to depart. Keeping the train right behind that one.

39:02 Entering HSL North Section (Delay)
Because the Thalys train is ahead of us we must wait a bit before we can enter the HSL. Same as we did earlier entering the south section.

41:54 RBC Connection Lost
Radio Block Center (sending track data to train) is lost for a few seconds. The train starts slowing down until the connection is restored. Works perfectly according how it all should work when this occurs. Another (unplanned) test succeeded!

45:50 Phase-Lock
Separating sections Rotterdam - phase-lock - Hoofddorp.

48:01 Testing Train Horns + Tunnel Groene Hart

50:28 Temporary Speed Limit
Speed limit still in place. :(

54:45 Ringvaartaquaduct
56:42 Nieuw Vennep

57:44 Leaving HSL North Section
Same process as we did entering Rotterdam area.

58:58 Hoofddorp

59:15 Defective Sprinter Towed by Intercity!
A very unique sight on this ride. On the left there's a defective SLT Sprinter coming up that is towed by a VIRM Intercity train. That's a first timer on my channel. :)

59:52 Schipholtunnel

1:01:14 Schiphol Airport
Here the towed train is passing us again on the left. You don't want trains like that to stop in a tunnel because it will then likely strand on it's way out. After the train has passed we are cleared for departure.

1:09:54 Amsterdam Lelylaan
1:11:41 Amsterdam Sloterdijk
1:14:58 Singelgrachtbrug

1:15:59 Amsterdam Centraal
Final call for this video. After I dropped my colleagues at the station I continued to the Watergraafsmeer with this train.

I hope you enjoyed the ride and the tour. Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already. Thanks for liking and sharing my video with your friends!

Have a good weekend! Cheers! :D
