Dance Movement Therapy and somatic-based techniques used in this exercise:

Self-touch/massage: one of my favorite self-care techniques. Uses the healing power of touch to foster connection and support.

Pillow-assisted movement: Transitional objects such as pillows help us find a sense of comfort and support without the need to rely on actual human beings. Kids sleep with stuffed animals for a reason! You might not be a kid, but I promise the effect stays the same.

Active breathing: Synchronizing breath and movement helps ground you while regulating the system and reducing stress

Creative movement: Letting your body express yourself freely is key to uncovering the hidden emotions and sensations that may be present in you
