Monster Hunter: Rise - Sunbreak: Hunting the "Chaotic Gore Magala"

"Chaotic Gore Magala" is a Variant of Gore Magala introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Despite the unique name, this monster is actually a normal Gore Magala that has been traumatized or interrupted during the process of molting into a Shagaru Magala. Mature Shagaru Magala use their virus to suppress the molting of nearby Gore Magala, eliminating competition for territory. Immature Gore Magala seem to be left in their juvenile state, but those already molting will have their metamorphosis forcibly halted partway, leaving them in this chaotic form.

As a result, only half of one side of its body has fully molted. Due to its improper molting process, it appears as an amalgamation of Shagaru Magala and Gore Magala, with a single vestigial horn and eye, and half of its body partially covered with golden scales. This state is highly unstable, and it will eventually die if left alone.

The creature retains all abilities of a Gore Magala but boasts increased strength and ferocity due to being partially matured. Its partial transformation also gives it some of the Shagaru Magala's potential and abilities, such as increased power in virus attacks. However, it is considerably more reckless than its mature form. More violent and aggressive than a common Gore Magala, its failed molting causes constant pain, leading to an erratic, violent, and unpredictable nature that makes it lash out at anything in its way. Because of this, it is considered a bigger threat than Shagaru Magala. As a result, hunters are tasked with hunting it down to stop its rampage and grant it a merciful death.
