This is another very near and dear one to my heart, my second collaboration with the amazingly talented @vanessasmusicbox , as well as the very first serious drum battle ever to be released on this channel. We've been wanting to callab again for quite a while, and Vanessa suggested a few killer songs of which we finally picked this one: LADY MARMALADE by CHRISTINA AGUILERA, LIL' KIM, MYA and P!NK from the soundtrack of the 2001 motion picture MOULIN ROUGE. This is a cover version of the original song by the girlgroup LABELLE, released back in 1974. It was a huge success internationally and became the fourth #1 hit for Christina Aguilera in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, as well as the very first one for Lil' Kim, Mya and P!NK. Vanessa came up with many cool ideas for the arrangement and even suggested two little drum battle parts in there, which has been particulary interesting, since none of us had ever done something like that before. So I really hope you're going to enjoy this very special drum cover collaboration with a great friend of mine.
