Tchiki Davis, Ph.D., published an article all about savoring in Psychology Today. According to Davis, “Savoring just means that we attempt to fully feel, enjoy, and extend our positive experiences. Savoring is a great way to develop a long-lasting stream of positive thoughts and emotions, because positive events cannot always be relied on to make you happier.” Though Davis points to savoring aspects of past, present, and future, I like to focus on savoring a particular moment in the day. I like to combine this along with my evening gratitude practice, while also acknowledging, savoring, the experience in the present moment. This is true mindfulness.
