डा. सुनिता चौधरी एकीकृत पर्वतीय विकासका लागि अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय केन्द्र (इसिमोड) को पारिस्थितिक प्रणाली विज्ञ हुन् । उनी प्रधानमन्त्री कार्यालयको राष्ट्रिय पर्यावरण संरक्षण तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन व्यवस्थापन परिषद्की सदस्य पनि छिन् ।

डा. चौधरीले अष्ट्रेलियाको म्याक्वेरी युनिभर्सिटीबाट पीएचडी गरेकी छिन्; अस्ट्रियाबाट संरक्षित क्षेत्रहरूको व्यवस्थापनमा एमएससी; र अमेरिकाको हवाई विश्वविद्यालयबाट ग्य्राजुएट लिडरसिप प्रोग्राम पुरा गरेकी छन् । उनी थारु समुदायबाट विद्यावारिधि गर्ने सम्भवतः पहिलो महिला हुन् । डा. चौधरीसँग अष्ट्रेलिया, अस्ट्रिया, कम्बोडिया र हिन्दुकुश हिमालयलगायत विभिन्न क्षेत्रहरूमा प्राकृतिक स्रोत व्यवस्थापनमा काम गरेको अनुभव छ ।

Dr. Sunita Chaudhary is an Ecosystem Services Specialist at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). She is also a member of the National Council for Environmental Protection and Climate Change Management, chaired by the Prime Minister. Her interests fall under the broad umbrella of conservation science and political ecology.

Dr. Chaudhary is a seasoned forester with over a decade of experience in natural resources management across various regions including Australia, Austria, Cambodia, and the Hindu Kush Himalaya. She holds a PhD from Macquarie University, Australia; an MSc in Management of Protected Areas from Austria; and has completed a graduate leadership program at the University of Hawaii, USA. She is likely the first female from Nepal's Tharu community to complete a PhD.

At ICIMOD, Dr. Chaudhary is responsible for research, policy inputs, capacity building, and advocacy of evidence-based policies to ensure the sustainable development of the Hindu Kush Himalaya region. Her work, which is both applied and interdisciplinary, focuses on human-nature interactions with the aim of finding solutions for a sustainable region where humans respect and live in harmony with nature.
