In this video, Dr. Rahil Chaudhary debunks the common myth about eye donation. Many people mistakenly believe that eye donation involves removing the entire eye and replacing it with a new one. However, this is not the case. During eye donation, only the front part of the eye, known as the cornea (also referred to as "Kali Putli"), is donated. The cornea is not black but transparent, and it plays a crucial role in vision.

Behind the cornea, there is another structure called the iris, which gives the eye its color—whether it is black, brown, green, or blue. When it comes to eye donation, only the cornea can be replaced with a donated cornea to restore vision. The rest of the eye remains intact.

Dr. Chaudhary further explains that it is not possible to replace the entire eye at present. Eye donation and cornea transplantation are life-changing procedures that help millions regain their sight.
