Parliament has today started the second reading of the Legal and Parliamentary affairs committee report that is currently tackling the controversial constitutional amendment bill, which seeks to scrap the Presidential age limit.

As Early as 7 pm lawmakers started trekking into Parliament in preparation for the presentation of the report of the legal and Parliamentary Affairs on the removal of age limits.

At 10 PM the speaker of Parliament arrived in the chambers but the front bench reserved for ministers was empty as they were still held up in a cabinet meeting.

Before the speaker could proceed with the day’s business, members raised some rules of procedure as the shadow attorney general Wilfred Nuwagaba insisted that the matter to be discussed was subjudice because the matter was before court.
