Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this CURT T-connector vehicle wiring harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. And this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 2022 and newer Volkswagen Golf GTI vehicles. And on a custom-fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now this will provide a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights.

And this does connect very quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate your connection points, which are behind the taillights, plug in these T-connectors, one on each side, one on the passenger side, one on the driver's side, ground the white wire, and then you'll run this power wire to the vehicle's battery. Now this harness does include this black box, which is a taillight converter, and this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It is a power module, connects directly to the vehicle's battery to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. And this converter is used or constructed using SMT technology, which is surface-mount technology.

Gives you more consistent, reliable performance. It will maximize trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, and it ensures superior operation on rough road conditions. Also, what's nice, if you notice, it does come with this dust cover for the 4-way. (clears throat) So basically, you can attach it to the plug and you can leave it attached. And when you're not plugged into a trailer, just put the cover over the terminals, protects it from any damage or from the elements.

A few specs on this harness: the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights is 5 amps per circuit, for the taillights is 7.5 amps per circuit. And just to go over all these parts briefly, how they'll connect. And they do give you a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. But what you'll do is, again, go to the rear of the vehicle, gain access behind the taillights, and you'll start on the driver's side. And you can take the T-connector, it has the yellow wire in it, that's for the driver's side.

Unplug it, plug this into that, and then take the other T-connector with the green wire, that's for the passenger side, run that length of wire over the passenger, plug it in. (clears throat) And then this black box, the converter box, does have a little weight to it, so you do want to attach it to a nice flat surface. They do include a nice piece of double face tape that you're gonna attach it down with, even has a little tab in it if you wanna put a screw in there either way. And then you'll run your length of wire with the 4-way on it out towards the rear. And then you'll have the two remaining wires. As we mentioned, the white wire will connect to a good clean ground if there's one nearby. If not, they offer a grounding screw that you can make your own ground. And then you'll wanna run your power wire up to your vehicle's battery, and you'll run it with this included wire and the inline fuse holder and the connector. So you'll take a butt connector, put it on one end here, and connect it to one end of this wire. Run this length of wire up to the front of the vehicle. And when you get to the front, you don't want to connect this directly to the battery. You wanna run it through the inline fuse holder. So put another butt connector on, connect that to one side. And then on the other side, connect your eyelet connector and that'll connect to the battery. Once those connections are all made, pop open your fuse holder, take your included 15-amp fuse, install it in the fuse holder, put your cap in place, and now your system's all ready to go. If you notice, they do give you some extra cable ties to take up any slack in any extra wiring. But that should do it for the review on this CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector.
