The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway 2023 Diesel Gala | Saturday 24th June 2023

A very hot but nonetheless enjoyable day lineside around Haworth for the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's annual diesel gala event. All footage was taken on Day 2 of the event from 07:30 until about 16:30 and between Oxenhope and Oakworth. This year's gala played host to six visitors (plus a further two on the Sunday being 37418 and 50008, but as I visited on the Saturday these aren't featured). The 6 main guests were Class 14 D9520 from the Mid-Norfolk Railway, Direct Rail Services' 37401 "Mary Queen of Scots", Scottish Railway Preservation Society's 37403 "Isle of Mull", Crewe Diesel Preservation Group's 47712 "Lady Diana Spencer" with accompanying BR ScotRail Mk3 and Mk2 DBSO push-pull set, owned by Locomotive Services Ltd, and finally HST Power Cars 43468 and 43480 courtesy of Railadventure, which worked as a back-to-back pair throughout the gala. Home fleet in action was prototype shunter D0226 "Vulcan", 20031 & 37075 (this meant on the Sunday there was four 37s working, and three of them Scottish ETH 37/4s!)
