Ingredients for Rice Chakli
Rice – 1 cup (170 grams)
Oil – 1 tbsp
Black pepper – ½ tsp (coarsely ground)
Fennel powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Salt – ½ tsp or to taste
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Oil – for frying chakli
How to make instant chakli recipe
Heat some water to knead flour. Take 1 cup water in any vessel and place it on flame for simmering. When you see gentle boil in the water, add 1 tsp oil, black pepper powder, fennel powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt and asafoetida. Turn off the flame.

Mix everything really well and mix rice flour water to it. Cover and keep aside for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes are done, take out the dough from the vessel and knead it with your hands until you get stiff and tight dough. Grease your hands with some oil and knead the dough. Dough is now ready.

Pinch small portion from the dough and roll it vertically. Place this dough into the chakli machine. Fix the chakli making mold and close the machine. Spread a thick polythene sheet. Press the pestle on the machine and move it in circular motion to get chaklis. Prepare 6 to 7 chaklis at a time on the sheet.

Heat some oil in a wok. Lift the chakli from the polythene sheet and slide it to the wok. Place 3 to 4 or as many chaklis as possible in the hot oil. Fry the chaklis until they get golden brown in color. Drain out the fried chaklis on paper kitchen towels to remove excess oil. Likewise prepare all the chaklis from the entire dough and deep fry.

Rice chakli is ready. Let the chakli cool down completely and store them in any air tight container. Have these scrumptious rice chaklis whenever you want and relish eating for up to 2 months.

Suggestions:
Make sure you knead soft dough for making the chaklis.
The oil while frying the chaklis should not be too hot. Fry the chaklis in medium hot oil to get perfect ones.
For 30 to 32 chaklis
Time – 55 minutes
