Hands down one of my favourite Chinese desserts to wrap up the Spring Festival and Lunar New Year festivities, sweet and chewy glutinous rice balls (tang yuan 汤圆)! Presenting three flavour combos I’d like to introduce to your palate: pistachio osmanthus, taro rose, and white sesame goji glutinous rice balls!

INGREDIENTS

Pistachio Osmanthus Filling:
55 g (1/3 cup) ground pistachio
25 g (1 ½ tbsp) osmanthus sugar syrup
1 tsp melted coconut oil
Pinch of salt

Wrappers:
65 g (1/2 cup) glutinous rice flour
55 g (4 1/2 tbsp) warm water (120°F/50°C)
Matcha powder

White Sesame Goji Filling:
45 g (1/3 cup) roasted white sesame seeds
15 g (2 tbsp) roasted walnuts
10 g (1 ½ tbsp) goji berries
Pinch of salt
20 g (1 tbsp) honey
1 tsp melted coconut oil

Wrappers:
65 g (1/2 cup) glutinous rice flour
55 g (4 1/2 tbsp) warm water (120°F/50°C)

Taro Rose Filling:
60 g (1/4 cup) taro, peeled and cubed
25 g (1 1/2 tbsp) rose sugar syrup
1 tsp coconut oil
Pinch of salt

Wrappers:
65 g (1/2 cup) glutinous rice flour
55 g (4 1/2 tbsp) warm water (120°F/50°C)
Beetroot powder

55 克(1/3 杯)开心果粉
25 克(1.5 汤匙)糖桂花
1茶匙 融化的椰子油
少许 盐

皮:
65 克(1/2 杯)糯米粉

白芝麻枸杞馅:
45 克(1/3 杯)烤白芝麻
15 克(2 汤匙)烤核桃
10 克(1.5 汤匙)枸杞
少许 盐
20 克(1 汤匙)蜂蜜
1茶匙 融化的椰子油

皮:
65 克(1/2 杯)糯米粉
55 克(4 1/2 汤匙)温水 (120°F/50°C)


芋头玫瑰馅:
60 克(1/4 杯)芋头,去皮切块
25 克(1 1/2 汤匙)糖玫瑰
1 茶匙 椰子油
少许 盐

皮:
65 克(1/2 杯)糯米粉
55 克(4 1/2 汤匙)温水 (120°F/50°C)
