Dream 2025 Draft Scenario / Adael Amador Futures Game MVP - MLB The Show 24 Rockies Rebuild - Ep. 21

Helllooo everybody and come along for the ride as I take on the task of rebuilding the Colorado Rockies here on MLB The Show 24.

In this episode, we'll embark on the 2025 MLB Draft where the Colorado Rockies hold the #7 overall pick. Last year they picked at #3 where they selected SP Michael Yamashita who has been dominating AA and is poised to get the call up to AAA any day now. The Rockies look to hit on another high selection, although they bring a much different strategy in this year's draft.

After selecting pitchers with their first six of seven selections last year they plan to address hitting and bring in a bunch of position players. Starting at #7, they're top option is power-hitting 3B Alex Parra, although he is the draft's #2 prospect so chances are slim that he falls in our laps. Otherwise, there are a couple of slick-fielding, speedy shortstops with high potential who serve as backup plans.

Colorado's scouting department uncovered a few potential diamonds in the rough at middle infield spots, and those players will serve as the priority in the mid-late rounds. Amidst all the draft day chaos, the Rockies would also like to add a catching prospect into the organization.

Before the 2025 MLB First-Year Player Draft festivities, we'll headline the top prospect in the organization, Adael Amador. At least year's Futures Game, Amador was named MVP following a three-hit performance. There's no way he could recreate last year's stellar performance... or could he?

In the next episode, we'll enjoy the All-Star Break from Truist Park and kick things off with the Homerun Derby. Following the festivities, we'll simulate through the rest of July and head towards the Year 2 Trade Deadline.
