Yasso 800 is a workout that has existed for a very long time. The goal of the workout is to work your way up to 10 repetitions of 800m at about 5k pace with equal time recovery. The peculiarly of the workout is its simplicity.

How fast should you run it? Run your goal marathon time (but in minutes and seconds). Want to run a 3:10 marathon? Do the Yasso 800 in 3 minutes and ten seconds.

How long between each rep? Same amount of time as you just ran.

Bart Yasso says he would start with 4 reps in the beginning of his marathon training blocks and then work his way up to 10 by the end. And he felt that, if he could do the entire workout, he was ready to hit his marathon goal time.
