Die Natur obsiegt - Kirchenruine in Crummendorf

Описание к видео

------------
Today we are talking about the ruins of a Protestant church. Unfortunately, the church was destroyed in 1945 during the war.
Only a few walls remain. Even the gravestones that were preserved have since been stolen.

Information about history:

The Church of St. Oswald dates back to the 16th century. It is the only church in Silesia dedicated to St. Oswald. An image of the saint was transferred from the previous church, which was built between 1300 and 1335 by Duke Bolko II, to the new Church of St. Oswald. There is no information about the previous church. It is only assumed that it was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War.

It is said that the "current" church was renovated in 1859. Another extensive renovation was carried out in 1907-09. On this occasion, the altar, pulpit and the painted memorial plaque were restored. The existing images of the apostles and prophets were restored. Among them was the centuries-old image of the namesake of the church, "St. Oswald".

The church was destroyed by war in 1945. Only the surrounding wall and parts of the church's outer walls have been preserved.
Until recently, it was still possible to see gravestone inscriptions from the 16th and 17th centuries, which belonged to several generations of the once powerful Czirnów family. Unfortunately, these were no longer there at the time of my visit.
