Verlorene Geschichte_600 Jahre Schlossruine Penkendorf

Описание к видео Verlorene Geschichte_600 Jahre Schlossruine Penkendorf

..
This ruin was still intact around the time of World War II.
There is only a little information about this castle. Everything about the builder and its owners has been lost. No coat of arms, no inscriptions and no other finds are available to help breathe life back into the story.

Information about history:

The castle was built in the 16th century on the site of an older fortress from the 14th century. The huge castle is now just a ruin, but old pictures show that it was still intact around the time of World War II. There was a knight's seat in Penkendorf long before this castle was built.
The complex stands on an island and was surrounded by a wall on all sides. There were two buildings in the courtyard and a tower at the gate.
A two-span stone bridge from the 15th century leads to the stone castle.
The castle burned down at least twice in its history. The second time this happened during the Thirty Years' War. However, the castle was rebuilt each time. After the first fire, the castle was rebuilt in the Renaissance style and then after the Thirty Years' War in the Baroque style.
Surprisingly, nothing can be found out about the builder and owner of this castle with its approximately 600-year history.
