One Life to Live 12/3/1990

Megan is shocked to learn Hunter is alive. Jake surreptitiously watches their whole conversation. Hunter explains to his crew that he and Megan knew each other a long time ago. Megan says after he was kidnapped by the Argentinian government, she and Roger pulled every string they could to get him released, but they were told he was dead. Hunter says now that he’s back in Megan’s life, he’s here to stay. Viki tells Clint she wants to dance with him, and he obliges. Viki discovers that with Clint’s help, she can walk across the room, though it ends with her almost falling. Viki and Clint are thrilled at her progress. Viki thinks it’s time she starts returning to work.

Max finds Carlo and Gabrielle together in the restaurant. Carlo says he has something for Max, but Max says Carlo doesn’t have anything he wants. Despite Max’s insistence, Carlo hands him the video tape and tells him to watch it, promising everything will become clear then. Gabrielle claims the tape is about a real estate deal Carlo wants to go in on with Max. Max says he has no intention of getting into bed with Carlo. Max gets called away on business, and Gabrielle tells Carlo never to try and come between her and Max again. Carlo tells her to sit down and demands, once again, that she tell him who shot Johnny Dee. She tells him the truth: Johnny had already been shot when she arrived at Tina’s room. She called 9-1-1, then realized the tape recorder was still running, so she took the tape. Carlo repeats his offer to trade Tina’s tape for the video of Gabrielle and Tony. Gabrielle makes the trade. Carlo says her marriage is safe, for now. Jake returns to his office to find Lucky giving Charlotte the grand tour. Jake asks Lucky to do a little surveillance on Hunter Guthrie. Gabrielle warns Carlo that what’s on the tape won’t bring back his son, but Carlo listens to it anyways. Gabrielle begs Carlo to understand that although he hears Viki’s voice, it isn’t Viki who shoots Johnny. Carlo says he’s listening and he knows that Viki killed his son. Gabrielle says it was a totally different woman by the name of Niki Smith. Carlo says Gabrielle isn’t trying to protect Viki, she’s trying to save her own neck. He says he has no intention of going to the police, but he makes no promises about not going after Viki. Megan and Hunter have lunch at Max’s Place and talk about old times. Hunter says they can still make the movie they always dreamed of if she says yes to the role. After asking some questions and finding out that Hunter is slated to be her leading man, Megan agrees to do the film. Viki, Clint, and Sheila give a press conference to announce that she is ready to resume her role as mayor.
