Ep. 192 3/4 BONUS: 8 WAYS TO SAY "I LOVE YOU" WITH MOSAIC ART! PART 7

This is the seventh of eight videos showing different Valentine's Day mosaic ideas!
Welcome to my studio! Part 7 will show how to make a mosaic on a rock!

0:15 I introduce the project and my pretty bead and tile pallette. I am starting with ball chain after I pencil in my heart.
0:59 I'm using E6000 to glue the ball chain on. The ball chain is stainless steel so it does not rust outside. I have my wire cutters at the ready to cut the ball chain. I work one half at a time.
2:33 While the E6000 is setting up, I take you outside to see some of the mosaic rocks I've made in the past.
4:00 My rock has striations so I'm going to make stripes as my design. I'm using Silicone now, which is waterproof. I add the donated cabochons, beads, tiles, big beads and mirror, cutting the pieces to fit as needed. I love it! I'll probably keep it.
6:00 Now it's time to make some little mosaic heart rocks. Should I grout?
7:02 I start by adding the ball chain, one half at a time. These little rocks don't have much space, so a few tiles or beads and they are done! My first one is yellow because I want to put it with my daffodils.
8:10 Pieces go in on the first little one. Then I make a turquoise heart with lots of beads to start. Next, a pretty red one, then a purple one. Number five is a blue and silver heart. And the last one is green made with donated mirror pieces and beads.
10:02 It's a couple days later and I've taped off the first heart so I can grout it. Then I remember that I don't like taping, and the small ones are so small I feel like it's not worth it!
10:42 I start by spreading the black sanded grout in all the interstices of the mosaic, including the ball chain. Then I wipe off excess with a shop towel. I let it sit for about 25 minutes, and then come back and finish cleaning off the haze. I take the tape off to reveal..... a yukky edge because the grout seeped under the tape. I do a bit of clean up and get it nice and crisp on the edge.
12:03 Then I take the rocks all over and see where they look best. Last of all, my Hearts are here and I give them each a heart to hold!
