The Simpsons Bart's Nightmare (1992) | Wranker 4K SNES Real Hardware Playthrough | Retrotink 4K

Описание к видео The Simpsons Bart's Nightmare (1992) | Wranker 4K SNES Real Hardware Playthrough | Retrotink 4K

Full playthrough of Bart's Nightmare, released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Super Famicom, played on the original 1-chip SFC. The game was developed by Sculptured Software, an Acclaim Entertainment subsidiary, and also released on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis the following year. The aim of the game is to collect the missing pages of Bart's homework in a dream land setting, with pages being collected by completing a variety of mini games.

Bart's Nightmare is a very strange game. I have a completely skewed perspective on this one, it's a game I loved as a kid, even though I could barely even collect one page. Yes, this game is incredibly difficult, not just because of the levels, but due to the very loose gameplay. The controls are not good and can be very frustrating. It's worth remembering, this was released during the Simpsons boom of the 90s, and if you aren't old enough to remember it, there is nothing I can say that will fully paint the picture of Simpsons-mania. This made overlooking negative aspects of the game very easy.

Overall, Bart's nightmare is a enigma of a game, blessed with fantastic Simpsons theming, and some really interesting concepts, only equaled by its poor game design and mechanics.

This is a A- playthrough, but the grade is score based, I demonstrate at the end how to infinitely, and quickly increase the score by extinguishing the flames 00:32:25. I could have easily done that for a while to get an A+ but that seemed a little boring for the viewer.

******* Notes on this Video *******
This playthrough was captured on real hardware. I finally received my RetroTink 4K from the states and used it in this video. It scales the game in a perfect integer aspect ratio, and I highly recommend it to retro game enthusiasts. The SNES used is a 1-Chip variation, which produces the best picture available of the consoles revisions.

The gameplay was recorded in 4K, using the M.2 Avermedia 4K Live Gamer capture card, again, another great bit of equipment, and better than anything I have tried from Elgato.

I upload these playthroughs, mainly for real hardware footage preservation, which is why I use no watermarks or overlays and record the footage in integer scaled 4:3. Feel free to use it as you wish, all I ask, is you don't just reupload it in full. Credit to my main channel would be greatly appreciated, but not required. Youtube, obviously bit-crushes video and audio while compressing, so if you want the raw footage of this video, contact me.
