The abdominal muscles are such an important group of stabilizing muscles as they support the lumbar spine (low back), and pelvis. Our bodies have different layers of muscles and the deepest layer of muscles are called our Core Muscles. When talking about our core abdominal muscles, we are referring to that deepest layer of muscles - called the transverse abdominis muscle. In this video, I show you how to activate through the Core Muscles first and set you up in the proper position for abdominal exercise. Then, we build on those abdominal layers and strengthen the oblique muscles and the rectus abdominis for a full abdominal workout!
