Easy chest and shoulder opening yoga poses - Many of our daily activities often cause the chest to narrow and shorten and this effects our heart and lungs. The yoga poses featured in this sequence are designed to stretch and open the front of the shoulders, the armpit chest (sides of the chest) and the upper chest. The muscles we lengthen by doing these poses are: anterior deltoid, biceps and pectorals.

01:00 - Urdhva Hastasana (upward arm pose) whilst seated on a chair
02:54 - Yoga belt / strap as backpack to draw trapezius muscles down (whilst seated on a chair)
04:54 - Arms wide and holding strap as we mobilise shoulders (whilst seated on a chair)
06:59 - Shoulder extension with upper arm external rotation (right arm) using the wall
08:33 - Shoulder extension with upper arm external rotation (left arm) using the wall
10:40 - Shoulder extension with upper arm internal rotation (both arms) using the wall
11:23 - Shoulder extension with upper arm internal rotation (both arms) whilst seated on a chair and folding forward over the legs
14:36 - Shoulder extension with upper arm internal rotation (both arms) in Uttanasana (intense stretch pose / standing forward bend)
