Hello everyone! Welcome to our channel. In this video, we will show you how to make Bol Renverse easily at home for the upcoming Spring festival or for any occasion. Hope you give this recipe a try & please do share your feedback with us. Enjoy! :)

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Marination:
Oyster Sauce - 1 tsp
Dark soy sauce - 1 tsp
Fish sauce - 1/2 tsp
Ginger- Garlic paste - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
400 g boneless chicken (chicken breast)cut into medium size cubes

Procedure:

1. Add ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, salt to taste, fish sauce, pepper powder, soy sauce & oyster sauce.
2. Mix well until chicken pieces are coated with the spices.
3. Add 2 tbsp oil in a pan, and once oil is hot add in the chicken pieces.
4. Stir fry chicken until fully cooked.
5. Once cooked, remove from pan and keep aside.


For the Shrimp Marination:

250 g shrimp cleaned & washed
Salt to taste
½ tsp chilli powder
½ tsp pepper powder
½ tsp soy sauce,
½ tsp fish sauce
½ tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp ginger garlic paste

Procedure:

1. Add salt, chilli powder & pepper powder to the shrimp.
2. Add 1/2 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp fish sauce & 1/2 tsp oyster sauce.
3. Add ginger garlic paste.
4. Mix well until shrimps are coated with the spices.
5. Add 2 tbsp oil in a pan, and once oil is hot add in the shrimps.
6. Stir fry shrimps until fully cooked.
7. Once cooked, remove from pan and keep aside.

For the Chopsuey:

Salt to taste
Chinese Brede/ Brede Chinois - 2 handful
1 big onions cut in quarters
3 medium carrots finely chopped
6 canned mushrooms thinly sliced
1 tsp fish sauce,
2 tsp dark soy sauce (can add more or less depending on your preference),
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch/ tapioca (can use 1 tbsp more if using more water/ if you want thicker sauce)
4-5 canned maize thinly sliced
2 tbsp cubed canned pineapple (optional)
1 cup of water (can use more if want more sauce)
Cooked Chicken
Cooked Shrimp

Procedure:
1. Add 3 tbsp oil, once oil is hot add the carrots, sauté on medium heat until carrot becomes little soft.
2. Then add in the onions, mushrooms & maize.
3. Add in oyster sauce, soy sauce & fish sauce.
4. Mix well to coat all the veggies with the sauces.
5. I am adding some more soy sauce to add a deeper colour.
6. Then add in the Brede Chinois/ Chinese brede.
7. Stir on medium flame until veggies get cooked but do not let them become too soft or mushy.
8. Add in the cubed canned pineapple pieces.
9. Dissolve the cornstarch or tapioca in 1.5 tbsp of water.
10. Add 1/2 cup of water to the vegetables & keep mixing & cooking on medium flame.
11. Now add in the cooked shrimp & chicken pieces.
12. Add another 1/2 cup of water (Total 1 cup of water.
13. At this stage you can add some more soy sauce or salt (Be careful however as the shrimp and chicken also contain salt).
14. Allow the water to evaporate a little.
15. Stir the tapioca/ cornflour slurry before pouring into the chicken-shrimp & the veggies mix.
16. You can add more water if you want a lot of sauce when you serve but you will have to add little more cornstarch to thicken the sauce & some more soy sauce if you want deeper colour.
17. Allow the mixture to thicken.
18. Chopsuey is ready.
19. Turn off the flame & set aside.

For the Egg: (Per bowl you will need 1 egg)

Ingredients:
1 Egg
Salt to taste
Pinch of pepper powder

Procedure:
1. Crack the egg open in a bowl.
2. Add 3 tbsp oil in a pan, once hot, do not whisk the egg, just pour the eggs gently in & sprinkle salt & pepper powder on top.
3. Once cooked from one side, flip the egg to cook the other side as well. (on medium flame)
4. Once ready, remove and place on a tissue paper to remove excess oil.



Assembling the Bol Renverse

You will need:
Cooked Egg
Chicken Shrimp Chopsuey
Cooked Rice
A small bowl with a dome

Procedure:
1. Use a brush to grease the bowl with some oil.
2. Place the cooked egg in the bowl as shown in the video (yolk side facing the bowl)
3. Then add the chicken-shrimp & veggies mix - Chopsuey (Add as much as you prefer but save some space for the rice).
4. Apply little pressure with the back of your spoon & press the chopsuey towards the bottom of the bowl.
5. You can add some of the sauce from the chopsuey.
6. Add in the cooked rice.
7. Apply some pressure & use the back of your spoon to stack all the layers (chopsuey & rice) in place.
8. Invert the bowl contents onto a serving plate.
9. Bol Renverse is ready to be served!
